On October 9 at 8:30 pm, Hurricane Milton made landfall in the Sarasota area of Florida before tracking across the state as a major Category 3 hurricane. Destruction has been widespread for most of the impacted areas, both with wind, water, and tornado damage. While our campus suffered only minimal storm damage, many of our non-residential students suffered damage and find themselves in need of support from the Embry-Riddle community. The Eagles Care Emergency Fund for Daytona Beach and Worldwide benefits students with immediate emergency needs. Already we are seeing a need for support for our Daytona Beach and Worldwide students impacted by Hurricane Milton. While many of the Embry-Riddle community were impacted by Hurricane Milton and other recent storms, our Eagles family is strong and resilient. If you are able, please consider a gift to the Daytona Beach or Worldwide Eagles Cares Emergency Fund to help support our current students.
Any off-campus students who experienced any difficulties during the storm are urged to contact us for assistance and/or immediate needs. Reach out to the Embry-Riddle Dean of Students Office at dbdos@erau.edu (386-226-6326).
