Delphinus Autonomous Surface Vehicle Capstone
Support our Robotics Capstone Team with the goal of becoming the first university to autonomously circumnavigate the globe with an autonomous surface vehicle.
Team Delphinus is a team of five mechanical engineering robotics seniors embarking on the path to our careers with certainly one of the most difficult and exciting Capstone projects for the class of 2020 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.
We intend to apply our combined knowledge and skill to design and build an autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) to circumnavigate the globe within one year of launch. Delphinus aims to accomplish circumnavigation by building a catamaran style boat to be launched off the coast of California during the summer after construction of the system is complete. If we succeed in our goal, we will be the first undergraduate student team to circumnavigate the globe with an autonomous surface vehicle.
The Impact of your donation
With our current budget, the team must utilize lower-cost components or used components which may lead to difficulties or failure in the long run. With your help, the team will be able to purchase more reliable and robust components which will greatly improve our chance of success.
We are confident in successfully fulfilling our goal because we are a dedicated team utilizing what we have learned in our combined coursework, our unique experiences, and our passionate faculty advisors. Please share in the opportunity and support our maritime robotics project.
