ROTC Memorial for the Daytona Beach Campus

Embry-Riddle has a proud history of being one of the top ROTC programs in the nation, and each year, hundreds of our students combine their challenging studies in aerospace and aviation with intensive training to become U.S. military officers.

Every year, scores of these young men and women graduate to become our next military leaders and serve our country with great distinction. And tragically, in the course of their valiant service, they sometimes make the ultimate sacrifice.

To honor these fallen Daytona Beach Campus ROTC alumni and their families, students are leading the effort to construct a memorial that would serve as a visible remembrance of those Eagles who gave their lives in the call of duty.

Located in front of the Brig. Gen. Spruance ROTC Building, facing Clyde Morris Boulevard, the proposed 1,100-square-foot memorial will include the names of fallen U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps ROTC alumni, and any ROTC graduates who gave their lives while serving in the Coast Guard.

With your help, we will ensure that these fallen Eagles are never forgotten.

Our goal is to raise $75,000 for this important project. The Embry-Riddle Student Government Association has already stepped up to donate $15,000 of the funding needed to create and maintain the memorial. Additionally, Embry-Riddle Trustee John Amore (’73), an Army helicopter pilot who served in Vietnam, is generously contributing $25,000, as a dollar-for-dollar matching challenge gift.

Once sufficient funds are raised to construct the memorial, further contributions will be used to establish a fund to support Embry-Riddle students who are veterans, currently serving in the military or in our ROTC program.

With your donation, we have an extraordinary opportunity to come together as a community in recognition of our fallen ROTC alumni and to support our students.

Donors will be honored digitally on the “Donor Wall” tab above.
