We are incredibly excited to announce that we have reached 101%

Our team was ecstatic when we found out and we couldn't be more grateful for your contributions! Your donations have provided us the financial aid we needed to continue our project and finish what we started.

The travel team has been working non-stop collecting pieces, checking and verifying parts and most importantly we've officially started packing. With less than a week till take off, we are very focused on making this trip the most efficient ever. The next 48 hours will be spent packing over fourteen suitcases worth of materials for our trip!

Let's keep spreading the word!

April 17, 2018

Hello everyone,

We hit 73% of our goal getting closer and closer to it every day.

Our team is actively trying to spread the word about the project in any way possible because we always feel like we could make a much bigger impact by letting more and more people know about what we do. This being said, whether you have already supported us financially or this is your first time on our website, we would like everyone to share the importance of the project in any way you can: talk to your neighbors and your coworker about it tomorrow morning, share it on your social media and spread the word to your friends and family!

For those of you who have already made a donation, we are extremely grateful for your support and we wouldn't have gone this far without you. Whereas if you are new, you are still in time to make a difference!

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give" - Winston Churchill

As always, stay tuned for more updates coming soon!

We are half way there!

April 11, 2018

We could not be more happy to announce that our departure is only 24 days away and that we have reached 55% of our goal thanks to YOU!

The Project Haiti team was able to accomplish several things in the past few weeks:

  • All the parts we were waiting for came in and our purifier is finally ready and working!
  • Wash team has ordered several items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes and soap that they will be handing out to the children part of the community we are installing the purifier for.
  • We have all attended a first aid class in order to be ready for any scenario we might be facing in Haiti.
  • Project Haiti had its own table during Preview Day at ERAU where we had the opportunity to meet the incoming freshman class for the fall 2018 and their parents. It was a great opportunity to talk about our project and get people to sign up to be a part of it next year. (see picture below)
  • We got notified that our collaborator in Haiti is building a concrete roof for the solar panels on top of the building where the purifier will be installed. (see picture below)

While we are getting ready to leave we are still finalizing minor details of the trip and we are still working very hard in order to reach our goal.

We value your support and we are extremely grateful for your help. We want everyone to know that this wouldn't have been possible without you!

Stay tuned, there will be updates coming soon!

Breaking News: We hit 20%!

March 30, 2018

Thanks to your support, we are 1/5 of the way to reaching our fundraising goal!

Our team has been putting in a lot of hard work and lots of exciting things have been happening:

  • Our travel team has been chosen and flights have been purchased!
  • We're almost done building our reverse osmosis purifier, and will begin testing next week after the final parts come in.
  • The WASH team found out that of the 160 children who will be present while we are there, 72 are between the ages of 3 to 6; 69 are ages 6 to 10; and 19 are ages 11 to 13.  As such, the WASH team is tailoring their lesson plans and activities to match each age group.
  • University media published an article on this years project.  Check it out here!
  • We had our first ever Chipotle fundraiser.  Approximately 100 students, faculty and others came out to support Project Haiti.  To promote the fundraiser students hung flyers, drew announcements in sidewalk chalk and even painted the Spirit Rock.
  • Spectrum News from Channel 13 stopped by the lab to learn more about what we're doing and will highlight Project Haiti on the 5:00 news! (Video will be shared once the segment has aired.)

It has been incredible to see the ERAU and local community's support for Project Haiti this week. Thank you so much for your support and we will continue to provide updates on our progress!
