Our purpose is to foster meteorological enrichment through academic and professional development both on and off campus. As a collegiate chapter of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association, we provide opportunities to strengthen our members academic, social, and professional development for the improvement of society within the atmospheric sciences.
We are trying to raise $1,000 dollars so some of our members can attend conferences such as the American Meteorological National Conference and the National Weather Association Conference. Our members have many research projects where these conferences and opportunities are vital for their networking and career development.
SGA funding has allowed us to host many events and socials for our members. We have been able to further our members opportunities through Career Discussion Panels, field trips to National Weather Service offices, and networking events. However, this additional funding would take our members opportunities to the next level that is necessary for success in this field.
