Gifts to Daytona Beach NGPA contribute to...

The Daytona Beach student chapter of the National Gay Pilots Association (NGPA) provides a safe space for queer people, pilots, and everyone in between to share their experiences and socialize with like-minded people. We often collaborate with other DEI initiatives on campus (SASE, SWE, etc.) to support each other and our collective mission to unite as a community.
The NGPA National chapter hosts two major events every year: the Student Summit in Washington DC and the Career Expo in Palm Springs, California. We bring as many members as possible to these events in order to maximize their exposure to potential job opportunities and connections in the aviation industry. It is also an opportunity to bond with pilots from across the nation and strengthen our community. We also use funding to create as many social events for the Embry-Riddle student body as we can. For example, just this semester, we’ve held a roller skating social, a sushi social, a game night, a Palm Beach Pride trip, and a beach day with our sister NGPA chapter at the Florida Institute of Technology. Last but not least, we host bi-weekly general meetings, where we come up with new themes for every meeting and highlight our members’ achievements that happened since the previous get-together. For these general body meetings, we always will have an activity & snack related to the meeting theme to keep our members excited and engaged.
Gifts made during Ascend Day of Giving will help support the NGPA National chapter’s two major recruiting conferences & the various social events we have on campus during the academic year. Thank you for considering NGPA during Day of Giving!
