Gifts to Daytona Beach Society of Women Engineers contribute to...

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is one of the largest student organizations on campus, dedicated to empowering women in engineering through outreach, professional development, and community. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where women can grow as leaders, build successful careers, and feel confident in a predominantly male field. Through national conference participation, industry engagement, and hands-on STEM outreach, we provide transformative opportunities for our members while inspiring the next generation of engineers.
Our biggest fundraising priority is sending our members to the SWE Annual Conference each fall. Every year, we fly a group of our members across the country to attend this world-renowned event, where they connect with thousands of engineers, recruiters, and industry leaders. For many of our students, this is their first time traveling for a professional opportunity. Beyond the career fair and workshops, the conference is a powerful bonding experience for our chapter as our members grow together, support one another in networking spaces, and return more confident and connected. By fundraising to offset travel, lodging, and registration costs, we make sure that cost is never the reason someone misses out on this life-changing experience. Our second priority is supporting our two major outreach events each year, which bring students from across Volusia County to Embry-Riddle for hands-on STEM activities. These events reflect who we are as a chapter, women uplifting the next generation, and fundraising allows us to provide quality and meaningful materials and messages. Finally, we raise funds to support our professional and social events throughout the year. From company info sessions and career fair prep workshops to social events and our end-of-year banquet, these gatherings strengthen the sense of community that defines our organization and ensures that no woman in engineering on our campus feels alone.
Past funding has played a huge role in shaping what our chapter is today. Donations and university support are what keep our organization moving and allow us to function at the level we do as one of the largest student groups on campus. That support has helped us reduce financial barriers for our members. Whether it is assisting with conference travel, funding supplies for our outreach events, or hosting professional workshops and networking opportunities throughout the year. Donations make the impact of our club possible. They strengthen our community, expand our reach, and give our members the chance to grow both personally and professionally.
Support from the Day of Giving sustains the momentum of our chapter and the opportunities we provide. Every contribution directly strengthens student involvement, expands access to meaningful professional and outreach experiences, and ensures our programs remain active and impactful throughout the year. This support allows us to continue promoting engagement, leadership, and a strong sense of community within our organization.
