Gifts to Daytona Beach Embry-Riddle Ice Hockey contribute to...
Ice hockey has been a proud tradition at Embry-Riddle since 1998. What began as a club sport has grown into one of the most popular and spirited programs on the Daytona Beach campus, uniting students, alumni, and the local community around the fast-paced excitement of Eagles hockey.
Unlike many collegiate programs, Embry-Riddle Ice Hockey is privately funded through player dues, sponsorships, and philanthropic support. Each student-athlete contributes more than $2,100 annually, in addition to the cost of personal equipment, just to compete. In 2022, growing student interest led to the addition of a Division 3 team alongside the Division 2 squad, doubling opportunities for players and fans alike — and doubling the need for support.
The teams compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA),within the College Hockey South (CHS) facing universities such as UCF, UNF, Georgia Tech, and the University of Miami.
The program’s growth and longevity are rooted in the vision of Dr. Jamie “Coach Fletch” Fletcher, the team’s first advisor and coach. In his honor, the Coach Fletch Ice Hockey Endowed Memorial Fund was established by Eagle Hockey Alumni to provide long-term support for the program. When available, earnings from the fund help offset operational expenses, including ice time, travel, and tournament costs, reducing the financial burden on student-athletes.
Your gift helps ensure that current and future Eagles can compete, grow, and succeed both on the ice and in their professional pursuits.
