Gifts to Prescott Campus Society of Physics Students contribute to...

The Society of Physics Students (SPS) on campus is a part of a larger national organization that dedicates itself to providing not only professional development opportunities for physics students on campus, but also a safe space for them to bond and make connections. Through funding students to go to conferences, giving research talks, and hosting career panels, our club is dedicated to helping our students get ahead in their career and be able to get involved in research on campus and abroad!
We are trying to raise $500 to send students to our annual zone meeting, which is an event where all SPS chapters in Arizona and New Mexico meet to share research interests, network, and learn new ways of improving each chapter! What we need is money to transport students and provide them a place to stay while we attend the meeting. Any excess funds would allow our club to send students to other conferences, where they have the opportunity to present their research.
Past funding from the Undergraduate Research Institute and the Physics and Astronomy department has been extremely valuable to our club. Last semester, we were funded to attend PhysCon 2025, where 8 of our members were able to network with other undergraduate physics students, career leaders, and attend valuable workshops to advance our careers. Five of the members in attendance were able to present their research, and get experience of what it feels like to show off your work in a professional setting, which has been very valuable to the advancement of their careers!
Our club is an extremely motivated group of students who are always striving to improve in their career and professionally, and any funds given towards them will allow these students to succeed and get ahead in the world of physics!
