The Daytona Beach Honors Program is dedicated to the education and health and welfare of the whole person and, by extension, to the health and welfare of others. The program enrolls top students who are committed to positive, tangible change while developing their communicative, analytical, research and problem-solving skills. This nurtures a love of life-long learning, leadership and service within students. Disciplinary rigor ensures that students achieve a deep understanding of subject matter, develop strong problem-solving and research skills and are prepared to apply their knowledge in real-world situations. Integrated impact aims to capture the holistic benefits of education, highlighting the importance of a well-rounded approach that prepares students for life beyond the classroom in a multifaceted world.
The Daytona Beach Honors Program asks for your support for the following:
- Honors Speaker Series: Support two speakers/guests per term that expand our speakers to popular topics ($10,000+).
- Honors Student Initiatives: Support events and community outreach for student initiatives, including HSA (Kennedy Space Center, Formal, etc.), community garden, book club, and STEAM tutoring ($1,000).
- Honors Student Research: Support individual student research, honors student research groups, and the HIRO (Honors Interdisciplinary Research Opportunities) initiative ($1,000).
- Honors Scholarships: Support the creation of an honors program scholarship for continuing students ($4,000).
