Gifts to Daytona Beach Undergraduate Research contribute to...
The Office of Undergraduate Research helps students:
- apply critical thinking, ethics and information analyses in decision-making processes
- understand the nature of research investigation and scholarship
- use discipline-based inquiry skills in their communities to create or understand new knowledge
- disseminate their research to engage with their community and enhance communication skills
The office assists with matching students who are interested in conducting research to professors, teams and clubs that are engaged in research similar to student interests. Additionally, the office hosts on-campus research events such as Research Match Day, Student Research Symposium and the Discovery Day Research Symposium. Most importantly, the office offers funding opportunities for students engaged in undergraduate research, including funding options to cover equipment costs, conference travel and student wages (in some cases).
The Office of Undergraduate Research would like to raise funds to cover travel-related expenses for students presenting their research at external conferences. Typical conference costs range from $1,000-$2,000 per student.
